One of the best things you could do when you first get one is to cut that brace at the back off & make a leather one, it won't "crack" over time & is much more comfortable.

Love your videos! I have a skull of a very young cougar. It’s all dry and the bugs never did anything to it. Should I soak it in water then make a maggot box for cleaning it up? Or soak it for 3 months? Thanks for your videos!

Antler is awesome, it and bone are sometimes called paleo-plastic. And you can soak the antler to make it softer and spray water on it to cut down on dust. Bone dust can cause white lung, I believe, but it takes years of exposure.

When buying PYREX make sure letters are all CAPS otherwise Pyrex with lower case is just fake pyrex and breaks easier.

My question is how did they hold up. As I did this and at first it looked awesome. However, within a few weeks the crystals started to turn foggy and milky in color. They were no long clear looking. After about a month it just looked nasty. I likely did something wrong. I am guessing you need to spray it with a clear coat to prevent that from happening. I didn't try it a second time to see. As I wasn't sure and didn't want to waste another skull.

This was awesome, im thinking about using some camel bone spacers and a butt cap on a chefs knife im making, now feeling more confident in carving my blacksmiths touch mark into the butt cap, but i was wondering if there is anything you could recommend for a finish to waterproof these pieces? I am planning on just ca/super glue coating them but i know its going to probably get rid of the cool natural texture, i didnt know if there was something that was more just to penetrate and fill the pores of the bone to keep water out, or if ca glue is my best bet. Have you ever mixed coffee grinds with walnut husks and made a stain thats a combination of the 2?

What's the best way to apply super glue to the teeth? I find that the glue hardens in the brush within a few seconds. A q tip works a little better, but it's hard to get in the nooks and crannies.
